Course: Group Interventions with Stressful Situations

The course objective is to gain theoretical and practical knowledge on different kinds of group intervention in stressful situations such as domestic violence, illness and disability, terror victims etc. The analysis and theoretical conceptualization will be based on the understanding of group characteristics, group phenomena, group process and group development in conjunction with the content that is brought up in the group discussion. Special emphasis will be put on the parallel process between the two. The group process and the content discussed in the group, as relates to the coping experience of the group participants with the stressful situations. 

 


The course will combine theoretical presentation and conceptualization with group experience such as structured group simulation that will be planned and implemented by the students.
