General Information

Dr. Siegel, a clinical psychologist who specializes in trauma, is an Instructor in the International Crisis and Trauma Program in the Bob Shapell School of Social Work at Tel Aviv University.  She is also a postdoctoral research fellow in the lab of Professor Zahava Solomon, where she examines the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder on the marriages of military veterans and their civilian spouses.  Dr. Siegel completed her undergraduate degree with Honors in Human Development at Cornell University. She graduated with a Masters degree in International Affairs from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris. Dr. Siegel earned her doctorate in Clinical and School Child Psychology at Yeshiva University.  She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Bar-Ilan University with Professor Rachel Dekel and Professor Rami Benbenishty.  Dr. Siegel's interests are on the topics of PTSD, secondary traumatic stress, foster care, and resilience.  Clinically Dr. Siegel has worked with families in foster care and with survivors of domestic violence, child abuse and torture.  Dr. Siegel can be reached at alanasiegel@tauex.tau.ac.il
