Ayelet Oreg is a Ph.D. student at Binghamton University – State University of New York. She earned a BSW from Ben-Gurion University in Israel, an MSW from Syracuse University, and is a certified supervisor of social work. Ayelet’s research focuses on people’s motivations for philanthropic giving. In her dissertation she studies the motivations of bereaved mothers for donating their human milk to nonprofit milk banks. She examines the healing process that philanthropic giving can have following the experience of loss.
